Seatown Services recently completed an A/C add-on installation for an Everett homeowner preparing for warmer summer weather in the PNW. Like many homes throughout the Seattle region, this property already had a forced air furnace but no central air conditioning in place.
To provide effective and reliable cooling, our team installed a single-stage 14 SEER heat pump condenser paired with a matching evaporator coil, allowing the system to integrate seamlessly with the existing furnace and ductwork. In addition, ductless mini split units were installed in targeted areas of the home to improve comfort in rooms that are typically harder to cool.
After installation and full system testing, this Everett homeowner now benefits from reliable, energy-efficient cooling throughout the entire home. The system delivers consistent airflow through the central ductwork while allowing for precise temperature adjustments in key areas using mini splits.
The result is a flexible solution that keeps the home comfortable during hot summer days while maintaining the existing furnace for colder months

Pairing a central heat pump system with ductless mini splits is becoming increasingly popular in the greater Seattle area. While the central system handles whole-home cooling, mini splits provide targeted comfort control in specific areas such as upstairs bedrooms, sun-facing rooms, or spaces with limited airflow.
This combination allows homeowners to balance comfort and efficiency without needing to fully replace their existing HVAC system.
For homeowners with forced air systems, combining an A/C add-on with mini splits offers several advantages:
• Provides consistent cooling throughout the home using existing ductwork
• Helps maintain stable indoor temperatures during extended heat waves
• Allows room-by-room temperature control with mini splits
• Keeps upstairs bedrooms and sun-exposed rooms noticeably cooler
• Improves comfort for sleep and work-from-home environments
• Increases energy efficiency by cooling only the areas in use
• Adds long-term value without requiring a full HVAC system replacement
