Regular air conditioning maintenance is one of the best ways to keep your cooling system operating efficiently throughout the warmer months. During this recent service appointment, our technician performed a comprehensive maintenance inspection on a 2018 Lennox air conditioning system to ensure it was running safely and reliably. Electrical readings, including voltage and amperage, were all found to be within factory specifications, and the system completed its cooling cycle successfully.
During the inspection, we discovered that the system’s capacitor was testing below the manufacturer’s recommended specifications. While the air conditioner is still operating, a weakened capacitor can reduce efficiency, place additional strain on the system, and eventually lead to unexpected breakdowns. Replacing the capacitor before it fails is a proactive way to help protect the equipment and maintain dependable performance.
As part of the maintenance visit, we visually inspected the indoor evaporator coil, blower wheel, and current air filter while confirming proper airflow throughout the system. The condensate pan was treated and tested for proper drainage, the P-trap was cleared, and the condensate pump was tested to verify proper operation. We also inspected electrical connections, confirmed there were no system error codes, deep cleaned the outdoor condenser coil, checked the electrical disconnect and refrigerant connections, and verified system pressures and temperature differential while the unit was operating in cooling mode.
Routine maintenance helps identify small issues before they become costly repairs while improving efficiency and extending the life of your HVAC equipment. At the conclusion of this visit, the Lennox air conditioning system was operating properly, with the capacitor replacement recommended to keep the system performing at its best for seasons to come.
